Our de Havilland Beaver floatplanes can fly you to where you need to be quickly and effectively while giving you an experience of a lifetime.
We have 2 aircraft, which combined can seat up to 13 passengers, and operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year during daylight hours.
Seaplanes were once the epitome of glamorous air travel in Aotearoa and seaplane flights continued to operate on the Waitemata Harbour under various companies until 1989 with a gap until Auckland Seaplanes started operations in 2013. Our eight-seater de Havilland Beaver seaplane is named Aotearoa II and registered ZK-AMA in honour of its 1940 predecessor and our second amphibious aircraft is registered ZK-WKA (a reference to the Maori word WAKA, which means canoe or vessel).
Auckland Seaplanes is proud to be New Zealand's first air operator to become ISO certified CarboNZero in Australasia.
Scenic Flights
Rangitoto and City Scenic Once you’ve boarded the flight, you will taxi out into the harbour taking in the sights of the City of Sails for a take-off past the city skyline. The route then goes past Devonport out into the Hauraki Gulf. You will enjoy stunning views into the crater of Rangitoto volcano, overfly several more of New Zealand’s unique islands and then head over downtown Auckland, around the Skytower and over the harbour bridge before landing back in the centre of town.

Gulf island Scenic Make your visit to Auckland unforgettable by extending your flight after the Rangitoto volcano to follow along both coasts of Waiheke -one of the most highly rated islands in the world- and past the Treasure Islands and then back towards town along the popular city beaches, before landing again right downtown.

Pacific to Tasman The explorer’s favourite a flight that highlights the diverse coastal landscapes of Aotearoa. You will discover the calm east coast sandy beaches, as we head North along the coast. Then we cross the mainland to the West coast and the beauty and ruggedness of this area becomes apparent as we track south down Muriwai towards Piha Beach on our way back to Auckland Harbour for landing.

Man O’ War Waiheke Island makes a favourite destination for an unforgettable getaway. Join us on this mesmerizing flight over the Hauraki Gulf before we land on the tranquil waters of Man O’ War Bay. The vineyard tasting room is located right at the beach. Relax and unwind by enjoying a full range of award winning wines for a tasting, followed by a glass of wine of your choice with a lunch platter inside or in the beautiful garden overlooking the beach and the other islands. After about two hours you board the plane for your flight back to Auckland.

Children under 2 years are free of charge, children aged 2-11 years are charged 75% of the adult fare provided at least 4 adults are travelling on the flight. Passengers 12 years and older pay the adult fare.
